Privacy Policy — Islamic World Pro

This Privacy Policy explains how Islamic World Pro ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use our Android application. We built this app to help with daily Islamic worship — Quran, Azkar, Qibla direction, Prayer Times, Duas, Tasbih counter, Hijri calendar, and Hadith — and we've designed it to work primarily offline, with your data staying on your device wherever possible.

Information We Access

• Location (GPS / approximate location): Used to calculate accurate Prayer Times, the Qibla direction, and your local timezone. To do this, your coordinates are sent to two third-party services: OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service (to determine your city/place name) and TimeAPI.io (to determine your timezone). These services receive only the coordinates needed to perform this lookup — no name, account, or device identifier is attached. We do not store your location on our own servers, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
• Notifications: Used to send Adhan (prayer call) alerts and daily reminders (Azkar, Ayah, Hadith, Qur'an reading). These are generated and scheduled entirely on your device.
• Internet access: Used to load Quran text, translations, tafsir, and Hadith content from public content APIs (alquran.cloud, quran.com, jsdelivr-hosted Quran/Hadith datasets) and recitation audio (everyayah.com), as well as to load fonts (Google Fonts). The app is designed to continue working offline once content has been cached.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, sell, or share your name, email address, contact list, browsing history, or any other personally identifying information. We do not use advertising SDKs and we do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools that track you across other apps or websites. We have no user accounts and no sign-in.

Third-Party Services

The app communicates with the following third-party services solely to provide app functionality. None of these services receive your name, account, or device identifiers from us:

• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — reverse geocoding of your coordinates into a place name, used for Prayer Times/Qibla setup.
• TimeAPI.io — timezone lookup based on your coordinates.
• AlQuran Cloud, Quran.com, and jsDelivr-hosted Quran/Hadith datasets — used to fetch Quran text, translations, tafsir, and Hadith content.
• EveryAyah.com — used to stream/download Quran recitation audio.
• Google Fonts — used to load typefaces; this may expose your IP address to Google as part of the standard font-loading request.

Data Storage

App preferences, reminder settings, and cached content (such as Quran pages, Azkar, and Duas) are stored locally on your device using standard Android storage. This data is not transmitted to us.

Children's Privacy

Islamic World Pro includes a children's section intended for use by families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no account sign-in, no user-generated content, and no advertising. Location coordinates are used only as described above (for Prayer Times, Qibla, and timezone lookups) and are handled the same way for all users regardless of age. Parents and guardians with questions about this policy can contact us using the information below.

Permissions Used by the App

• Location (Fine/Coarse): For Prayer Times and Qibla direction accuracy.
• Notifications: For Adhan and daily reminder alerts.
• Schedule Exact Alarm / Receive Boot Completed / Wake Lock / Foreground Service: To reliably deliver Adhan alerts at the correct prayer time, including after device restart.
• Internet: To fetch Quran, Hadith, and recitation content, and to perform the location/timezone lookups described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
